BROOKLYNITES COME OUT IN DROVES TO SUPPORT THE FLINT WATER CRISIS

The crime started in April 2014 when Flint, Michigan switched its water supply. For far too long, city and state officials denied the presence of dangerous levels of lead and contaminants in the drinking water. The majority of Flint residents, Black with 40% living in poverty, were given the shaft. By January 2016, President Obama declared a federal state of emergency. With a supportive show of humanity, generosity, and sodality, Brooklynites came out in numbers to support families in Flint.
