6 Ways To Celebrate Beer Week in Brooklyn
(By doing more than just drinking.)
(By doing more than just drinking.)
Who doesn’t love (or need) a good drink? Fortunately, if you love beer – this is the week for you.
NYC Beer Week will occur from February 24 through March 5, 2017 and there are a LOT of great events happening throughout Brooklyn in this year’s edition of the festival. Here are some of the Brooklyn-based events you should consider checking out… even if beer isn’t your drink of choice.
The Well, 272 Meserole Street
Sunday, February 26 at 5 PM
The spacious East Williamsburg dive bar will host a panel discussion with representatives from beer brands that include Popworks, Grimm and Half Acre. The panelists will talk about brewery collaborations and will also be broadcast on the Beer Sessions Radio podcast. Aside from The Well’s incredibly extensive beer list, the event hosts will be serving Vietnamese food to guests. Yum!
Barcade, 388 Union Avenue
Saturday, March 4 at 12 PM
This awards ceremony is more of a celebration of beer, food, and fun. Attendees pay for drinks and snacks as they go, tasting the candidates who may/may not receive an award at the end of the event. Interested parties can vote online here before March 4.
The Wine Lab, 1000 Dean Street
Sunday, February 26 at 2 PM
Is it blasphemous to have a Beer 101 course at a place called The Wine Lab? Maybe, but that doesn’t stop it from being worthwhile! Attendees have to pay to partake in this course, but if you want to finally learn the difference between a Lager, an IPA, and an Ale – this is the way to do it. The class includes a tasting at the end, so you’re getting your money’s worth.
Apart from the on line cialis medications which are very important for performance in bed.
Strong Rope Brewery, 574A President Street
Thursday, March 2 at 7 PM
Thinking of quitting city life in favor of a farm? This panel of hop farmers will give you insight on how to start your own farm, as well as what it means to be a hop farmer in New York. (Spoiler: There are many challenges, but there’s also many rewards!) Panelists include Chris Holden of Crooked Creek Hops Farm and Jason Sahler of Strong Rope Brewery.
The Sampler, 234 Starr Street
Saturday, March 4 at 1 PM
If you like your beer like a Sour Patch Kid, this event is for you. The Sampler will feature different kinds of beer than it usually would – giving a change to the funky and tart flavors to be spotlighted on tap. The tap list is still TBD, but we bet it’s going to be worth trying.
Brooklyn Expo Center, 72 Noble Street
Saturday, February 25 at 11 AM
Weird name? Sure, but here the event description out. This afternoon event is geared towards families, so you don’t have to be 21+ to attend. The festival will include an expo with 30+ vendors offered fermented goods to sample and buy, as well as educational programming and “Brewnity” – meet ups for NYC’s local homebrew clubs.
