Join BAM for an opening reception launching a new interactive installation based on In Terms of Performance, the online art and performance anthology. This special event begins with celebratory drinks in the Natman Room, where selections from BAM’s digital archive illuminate and extend key points from IToP’s web of reference. Exercises led by artists Ain Gordon, Malik Gaines, Sharon Hayes, and Brooke O’Harra follow in the Lepercq Space. In tandem, these living resources capture the evolving discourse around the contested terms of interdisciplinary work.

Freedom of Expression: The Never-Ending Fight

Ira Glasser, head of the American Civil Liberties Union from 1978 to 2001, and Norman Siegel, director of the New York Civil Liberties Union from 1985 to 2000, reflect on the history and ongoing struggle, and reminisce about their shared Brooklyn roots. Moderated by Jarrett Murphy, executive editor and publisher of City Limits.
