St. Patrick’s Day is just a few short days away. Brooklyn does it big for the holiday, and there are no shortage of parades, community events, and concerts to attend. There is also a litany of Irish bars in the borough–so many that it might be difficult to choose which to drink at on Saturday. Fret not. The list below features five authentic Irish drinking experiences to fill your day.

Hartley’s – Clinton Hill

They bake Irish soda bread daily and pride themselves on the fresh ingredients they put in their “American take on Irish comfort food.” Stop by for some Irish hospitality and cocktails like the Mr. Hartley, featuring Tullamore Dew, sherry, and orange bitters.

Irish Haven – Sunset Park

Looking to get an early start on Saturday? The iconic Irish Haven, as seen in The Departed and Gotham, will open its doors at 8am. This down-home, truly local bar will also be serving up corned beef and cabbage all afternoon. They’ll also be showing Irishman Michael Conlan’s boxing match with David Berna at 8pm and a DJ playing from 9pm until “laaaate.”

The Way Station – Prospect Heights

More of a quirky neighborhood cocktail bar than a bar to drink a pint of Guinness, The Way Station is embracing the Irish holiday nonetheless. From 7pm-12am, The Way Station will have four Irish musical acts. Featuring the Gaelic “Funkstress” Paula Ryan, Celtic house band The Waysties, “raucous pub band” Three Pints Shy, and “Ren[naissance]-Rock” band Rascals and Rogues, it’s sure to be a one of a kind experience.
