Brooklyn’s leading presenter of free cultural programming, BRIC, has garnered some of the highest honors as the organization received 13 New York Emmy Awards nominations.
The nominations include nine for BRIC TV, the Brooklyn-focused non-profit cable channel and digital network BRIC launched in 2015, and four for shows produced through BRIC’s Brooklyn Free Speech initiative. BRIC is the 12th most nominated organization, tied with WCBS and WABC.
“BRIC is deeply honored by this recognition of our BRIC TV and Brooklyn Free Speech TV initiatives,” says Leslie Schultz, President of BRIC. “New York’s media sector produces an abundant volume of extraordinary video work, and we are so pleased that our contribution to this body of work, exclusively focused on all things Brooklyn, is increasingly recognized as being among the best.”
