Dear Brooklyn,

May 14th, 2014, halftime at Barclays Center’s Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat playoff match up. “Ayanna look, Beyoncé,” my mother said as she shook my arm. Before I could raise my head from looking at the Nets’ one gift stand in the courtside club, the Queen of everything, passes me quickly. Frozen in amazement, a group of people, not fans but part of security follow her. Then, a few seconds later, Jay Z walks out stops and smiles at me, goes over to my mother and says, “Hey, how are you doing?” My mother smiles back and says “well and you?” And just like that, the man I look up to for putting Brooklyn on his back, walks away and I’m stuck, saying not one word, with a few of the arena staff asking, “Who are you guys? He never stops to talk to anyone.” The first time I met Jay Z, I said nothing.

So here I am, almost one year later, waiting for the do over. While I replay the day over and over again, the only reason why I’m not mad at myself is that I know it will happen again. Now there are millions of people who want to meet Jay Z, so what makes me different? Nothing. He’s from Brooklyn. He’s one of the smartest entrepreneurs of our time. He’s mastered the law of attraction (at least that’s what Oprah said), and I just want to pick his brain. See what he’s thinking. Learn how he continues to re-invent himself. Ask him to drop some gems.

While many see Jay Z as the rapper, the head of an empire he managed to build from the ground up. I see him as a master teacher. Someone we can all learn from. You don’t have to be a rap music enthusiast, just a lover of a great mind. Jay Z has learned the key to win in music, in business and in relationship. While I think we are all capable of the same things, if not more, I know getting his perspective would be thought provoking and inspirational.

The Nets lost by two points that night (94-96) but have been victorious against the Miami Heat in games after. See, while I was too star struck to talk at the game (a loss) I truly believe a win will come. I’ll be sure to update you all on the day I officially meet Jay Z.

Love,
I was advised with mental stress relieving methods so that I find it mostly to provide a non-starter past a few universities that may possibly lead to cheap cialis view for source sexual impotence.

P.S.

Below is the day I unofficially met Jay Z.
