Brooklyn Rises for Puerto Rico: A Benefit Concert at Union Hall

With an incredible line-up of Puerto Rican talent, BROOKLYN RISES features members of the original Broadway cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s IN THE HEIGHTS as well as the broadway hit ON YOUR FEET: the life and music of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Alongside musical performances, BROOKLYN RISES includes a silent art auction featuring artwork from awarding-winning illustrators featured in the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, and Rolling Stone: Alba Acevedo, David G. Klein, and Peter Kuper among others. All proceeds will go to the Hispanic Federation and Hurricane Maria Relief Fund.

To kick off Feasts and Festivals—a photography exhibition and program series in partnership with SAVEUR presented by Roland Foods—MOFAD and the Mexican Cultural Institute are hosting a DÃa de los Muertos/Day of the Dead party. Featuring a community altar, picado crafts, bites from Roberto Santibañez’s FONDA restaurant, pan de muertos from La Newyorkina, mezcal from Pelotón de la Muerte, and Mexican hot chocolate from Hernán, this event will explore the meaning, significance, and foods behind this annual Mexican celebration.
