Our streets are just a little safer now that a serial mugger who preyed on elderly women in New York City has been captured.
Clarence Jones, 66, was captured in Prospect Heights on Lincoln Place yesterday afternoon, moments after a tipster called into authorities after noticing him wandering around.
Jones, who previously spent 14 years in prison for robberies back in the late 1990s, has been wanted since the end of 2015 for eight muggings across Brooklyn — more specifically Kensington, Prospect Heights and Park Slope, Queens and the Bronx. He has so far been charged with three counts of robbery, two counts of assault, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and one count of attempted robbery, in the four Brooklyn robberies.
