Brooklyn seems to have figured out how to win over the sharks.
Brooklyn-based all avocado eatery, Avocaderia, recently walked away with a $400,000 investment deal on Shark Tank‘s Feb. 11 episode. The restaurant located in Sunset Park’s Industry City is self proclaimed as the “world’s first avocado bar” and owner Alessandro Biggi is looking to expand the company into different cities.

During Biggi’s pitch he boasted that his restaurant that specializes in avocado toasts, smoothies, salads and more — all avocado based — did $75,000 in sales over the previous month and is projected to rake in $4.3 million of revenue in 2018.
Though “sharks” Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec find the food “delicious” they move out on the deal as they don’t see it as something that can last. Guest shark Rohan Oza worries about the avocado focused menu and also moves out on the deal. Business woman, Barbara Corcoran and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban join in on a deal and offer Biggi $300,000 for 25 percent. After a few counter claims, Biggie and the two investors settle on $400,000 for 20 percent of the company.
Big with this new investment plans to open 20 new Avocaderia restaurants, starting with a location at Chelsea Terminal Warehouse set to open this spring.
