After four years catering to the Crown Heights community, owners Ron and Kati Cunningham of Brooklyn Bell’s The Local ice cream shop have closed their doors at 843 Classon Avenue. The husband and wife duo posted the unexpected news on the door of their sweets parlor.

Colombia-based coffee purveyor Devoción, are opening their second Brooklyn café at TF Cornerstone’s 300 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Devoción was founded in Colombia in 2006, where they later opened their first Brooklyn shop in 2013 on 69 Grand Street in Williamsburg.
“Our second New York location is, to some degree, more important than our first, so I am excited to have found such a great location in Brooklyn that is evolving quickly,” founder Steven Sutton told The Commercial Observer.
Sutton signed a 15-year deal with the new luxury building at $125 per square foot. Devoción’s new location is expected to seat 40 people in their 1,722 square foot café which will open later this year. The café, set to open later this year, will cater to the 714 residents within the units above and more by serving their trademark farm-fresh direct trade coffee, and other café goodies from pastries to sandwiches.
