Crossing Brooklyn Ferry: A Walt Whitman Walking Tour of DUMBO
128 Pierrepont Street at Brooklyn Historical Society
Time: 11am – 1pm
Price: $15 – $20
On the heels of the Bard of Brooklyn’s 200th birthday, trace Whitman’s steps along the Brooklyn waterfront as portrayed in his visionary poem from Leaves of Grass, “Crossing Brooklyn Ferry.” We begin with a vocal incantation of the poem at Fulton Ferry Landing, followed by a tour led by Greg Trupiano and Stefan Killen, bringing to life the physical spaces of DUMBO through the literary themes of water, time, and our interconnected modern, democratic life in America.

Retrograde Planets: Natal and Transit
987 Flushing Avenue at Catland
Time: 7pm – 9pm
Price: $15
Retrograde motion refers to the apparent backwards motion of the planets through the zodiac from our perspective here on Earth. This retreat has different effects in a natal chart as opposed to when it transits your chart. Natal retrogrades usually manifest as a weakness of that’s planet’s energy for that one person. During a retrograde transit, however, that planet’s energy wanes for everyone, causing more caution to be taken. We’ll look at some example charts and some of the current transits to really understand retrograde planets.
