Join Atlas Obscura Society New York for a stroll down The Evergreens Cemetery’s “Brewers’ Row,” where several notable beer barons are entombed in lavish mausoleums. On this special guided tour with Field Agent and Evergreens tour guide James Henry, you’ll learn all about the history of local brewing and the backstories of the men who paved the way for the Bushwick brewing scene, like the successful brewer whose business managed to survive prohibition, only to be destroyed by labor unrest, and the brewer who may have been the victim of a serial arsonist. Following the tour, you’ll meet with Bridge and Tunnel Brewery Brewmaster Rich Castagna for a guided tasting of their locally made brews. As you sip samples, Rich will share the history of his brewery and the stories behind the brews, toasting to the rich legacy of the beer barons of Bushwick.
