The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) has announced their 2017 Senior Cinema line-up. BAM Rose Cinemas provides a full season of monthly films with FREE admission and complimentary popcorn and soda for moviegoers 65 years and older.
Since the launch of the program in 2005, nearly 8,000 seniors from throughout New York City have enjoyed FREEÂ films and concessions. Senior Cinema features a breadth of repertory film programming, including classics, foreign masterpieces, and rarely seen gems.
The film series kicks off this July with an eclectic mix of films including the comedy Car Wash, the horror-thriller Die! Die! My Darling!, Woody Allen’s Hannah and Her Sisters, and the romantic classic The Shop Around the Corner, to name a few.
BAM also partners with the New York City Housing Authority to provide participating senior centers and community-based organizations with subsidized bus transportation to and from BAM for Senior Cinema.
All Senior Cinema screenings start at 10am. Reservations are required and can be made up to three weeks in advance. Seating is limited of-course, and available on a first-come, first-seated basis. All cinemas are wheelchair accessible and offer infrared systems for people who are hard of hearing (upon request). For reservations, call 718.636.4122.
