There’s a few hidden treasures lying beneath your feet here in the borough.
Bob Diamond of the Brooklyn Historic Railway Association, known for his Atlantic Avenue underground tours held between 1980 to 2010, recently revealed there’s something trapped below the popular street Downtown Brooklyn. Diamond has stated that a locomotive from the 1830’s is trapped under a street in Brooklyn, presumed to be Atlantic Avenue.
After Diamond’s tour was shut down in 2010 by the FDNY due to major safety concerns, he decided to voluntarily share his best kept secret to the National Geographic Network. According to both Diamond and the National Geographic, the locomotive is very easy once past all the security and safety stipulations. In 2011, National Geographic was in the mist of making a documentary on the discovery of 150-year-old locomotive but it was quickly shut down by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
