Earlier today the Brooklyn Nets reported another injury for Deron Williams. The Net’s star play suffered a fractured rib and has no time table to return to practice or his team.

Another Season, Another Injury For Deron Williams

Here’s a time line of the events leading up to the injury.

1/4/15-Sunday Night in Miami I sat near the Nets bench and could tell Deron Williams was in pain but was on the floor various times during the game. Kevin Garnett could be seen on the bench helping his teammate trying to ease the pain. The loss in Miami did nothing to subside the pain. Early reports suggested that Williams simply had a stomach strain and there was no need for concern.

1/5/14-Monday in Brooklyn. Deron went to check up on his pain and reported some soreness above this area over the weekend and as a result underwent imaging studies which were negative. Wisely, Deron did not play against Mavericks to let the very minor strain heal.

1/6/14-Tuesday in Brooklyn. The Nets listed Deron as doubtful for Wednesday’s game but still a stomach strain.
Patients also have the look at this now (cialis generika) option of Kamagra soft pills also.

1/7/14-Wednesday Night in Brooklyn. Williams returned to the court and all seemed to be well until he went for some sort of move, twisted his body, and looked like his elbow and his opponent’s body hit the same injured spot. The pain caused Williams to turn the ball over and walked to the bench. Nets Athletic Trainer, Tim Walsh, evaluated Williams for a minute or so on the bench. Williams could walk but was in too much pain and could be seen walking back to the locker room 2 minutes into the second quarter. That would be his last appearance of the night.

1/8/14-Thursday in Brooklyn. New imaging studies done today demonstrated that there is a fracture. There is no timetable for his return. He will be re-assessed in one week. Nets GM Billy King and the Brooklyn Nets confirmed that Deron Williams did indeed fracture the cartilage portion of his 12th rib on the left side. Deron will be re-evaluated in weeks’ time.

With the NBA ALL-STAR game coming up, this does not spell good news for Williams who wanted to get back to the ALL STAR game and ALL-STAR status. This new injury although not serious, at least not yet, will take Williams out of the lineup when the Nets could surely use some help against the Pistons, Rockets, Grizzlies and Wizards…all within a weeks’ time.
