Live from inside Barclays Center the Brooklyn Nets (16-18) hosted the Boston Celtics (11-21). Deron Williams returned to the team, after missing the last game, following an abdominal strain.

Brooklyn managed to establish the lead early on in the 1st quarter causing the Celtics to take a time out following an easy Plumlee dunk and a 10-2 Brooklyn lead. The Celtics would put meaningful points on the board but would trail the Nets by 8, 19-11. The Nets and Celtics would trade shots for the rest of the quarter. Brooklyn would have the edge leading 25-19 at the end of the 1st.

Deron Williams started the 2nd quarter but had to leave the court and headed to the back with 10 minutes remaining and eventually would not return to the game. The Nets would go on a run to increase their lead to 10, 31-21 until Boston would hit 2 consecutive 3 pointers to cut the lead to 4. Boston would manage to cut it to 1 on a 11-2 run. The Nets would respond with a run of their own building back a 7 point cushion. Boston responds again and manages to take their first lead and end the half on a 8-0 run.

Brooklyn opened the 2nd half taking back the lead courtesy of the Joe Johnson show. Boston would respond by reclaiming the lead and ballooning it to 5, 55-50. Boston would maintain their poise and put an 8 point separation between themselves and Brooklyn.The Nets would lose the quarter 29-23.

4th quarter woes continued form the 3rd. The Nets would put themselves in a 12 point deficit with 9:30 remaining in the quarter. The Nets needed a few 3 pointers to climb out of this hole but none would come. The Celtics would continue to put up points while the Nets continued to turn the ball over. Nets would cut it to 9 on 3 occasions but trading baskets could not bring the Nets a much needed win. Nets Lose 89-81. The Celtics would outscore the Nets 20-19 in the quarter.
