As part of the Brooklyn nets Assist program, which stands to support Education, Athletics, Health and Wellness, today, Nets players Deron William, Jarrett jack, Jerome Jordan, Jorge Gutierrez, professional BMX rider and Queens native Nigel Sylvester, and 100 volunteers participated in a Build-A-Bike event with 50 children from the NYC Administration for Children Services.

The players and volunteers built 50 bicycles alongside children, ages 7-10 years old, who were surprised that the bicycles were actually for them. Along with the new bikes, the children were awarded helmets donated by Bell Helmets and a talk from Nigel Sylvester about his professional career and also performed a few light tricks.
