Questions surrounding Brooklyn Nets power forward, Kevin Garnett and his future have been on the rise ever since he went silent this past off-season. Garnett returning to Brooklyn are now obvious, however, more questions followed including if he would retire at the end of an illustrious 20 year NBA career. Garnett has not answered that question nor will he until he and only he is ready to do so.

During an interview on this past Thursday, Garnett expressed that he had interest in purchasing a NBA team; the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he played from 1995-2007. Garnett was quoted “I want to buy the Timberwolves, put a team together and perhaps someday try to buy the team. That’s what I want.” Minnesota, of course, is where Garnett played the first 12 years of his NBA career before heading to Boston and now in Brooklyn. According to Forbes magazine, the Minnesota Timberwolves are worth approx. $430 million. Garnett had made roughly $330 million in his 20 years, not including endorsements. It would behoove Garnett to move quickly in becoming an owner of the Timberwolves as the new NBA TV deal, that everyone seems to be waiting for, will drastically increase the asking price of every team.

For the first time in a long time, Garnett has given us a glimpse into his future. We will still have questions for “The Big Ticket” however, one thing is for sure; Kevin Garnett isn’t done with the NBA anytime soon.
