If you can’t get enough of 19 cent bananas, $1.99 bags of baby spinach and $2.99 half gallons of almond milk in Cobble Hill — the only standing Trader Joe’s in the borough, look up and say cheese as the coveted supermarket will soon open its second grocery.
Coming as soon as 2016, Trader Joe’s will open at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn — developers Acadia Realty Trust and Washington Square Partners announced earlier today. The shop is set to open on the concourse level in the cellar next to that massive food hall we reported on earlier this year. City Point’s shopping center will also include Century 21, Target and an Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theater.

Thou the Prospect Heights location rumors have been confirmed to be false, Trader Joe’s did sign a lease to open a 18,000-square-foot store at 206 Kent Avenue (bet N. 3rd Street and Metropolitan Ave) in Williamsburg. No opening date has been set for this location, so it seems that the Downtown location will come first.
While Downtown Brooklyn is cool, I personally would love a Trader Joe’s in Crown Heights. Where would you like to see the super grocery store in Brooklyn?
