Bushwick-born 'Hamilton' Star Anthony Ramos Lands Lead Role In New Netflix Series

The buzz over Spike Lee’s new Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It continues as Hamilton breakout star, Anthony Ramos has landed a lead role.

The 10-episode series is an update of Lee’s 1986 film. The series follows Nola Darling, a Brooklyn-based artist who is trying to define herself while still making time for her friends and family. Ramos, born in Bushwick, is said to take the role of Mars Blackmon, one of Darling’s lovers who wears Jordan sneakers and become a social media phenomenon. Mars was played by my Lee himself, in the original.

Lee will direct all of the episodes of the series, which he created and executed produces with his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee.
