Bill Murray Will Be Bartending At Son's New Restaurant In Greenpoint This Weekend
Bill Murray in Lost In Translation 2003.

This Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17, EMMY Award winning actor Bill Murray will be mixing and serving up drinks in Greenpoint.

The actor, no stranger to bartending—he spontaneously showed up at Shangri-La, a bar in Austin, TX, to serve up tequila shots with Wu Tang Clan during SXSW 2010— will be manning the bar at 21 Greenpoint, his son’s new restaurant. 21 Greenpoint, a more upscale dining spot created by Syd Silver and Homer Murray, replaces their old dining spot, River Styx.

“We wanted to change it up,” Homer Murray tells EATER. “We made it prettier, renovated the dining room, added a new bar, and updated the kitchen.” The food, he says, will be seasonal and exclusively from local farms. “We try to use seconds like tomatoes or carrots that farmers can’t sell because they don’t look as good but they still taste great and are high quality. Then we make them look pretty.”

The cocktails offered will be curated by beverage director Sean McClure and Murray will begin serving both Friday and Saturday at 7pm. Make sure to bring extra coins for a tip.
