As we all know, last night Hot 97’s Summer Jam took place at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey and OurBKSocial was on site to give you the ins and outs of the show.

Like all concerts, there are things that could go wrong and Summer Jam was no exception. Due to bad weather conditions, the traditional festival was canceled, the gates didn’t open until 8:30pm, which then caused the show to start at 9pm. There were also some performance cancellations and short performances due to crowd altercations. It’s like performers and concert goers couldn’t catch a break, but like the saying goes ‘the show must go on’ and that it did and here are best 8 moments of the night.

1. Bryson Tiller Steals the Show

Bryson Tiller was the highlight of the show. Not only did he vibe with the audience and share his personal story on how he waited on God’s timing to write the song that gave him a name in the music industry with Don’t, he also brought out Fabolous to perform on stay with him.

2. Funkmaster Flex Lights the Stadium Up

During his set, DJ FunkMaster Flex definitely had the crowd rocking out to all kinds of throwbacks. He wanted to make the whole of New Jersey know that he was in the building so he had the entire stadium put their phone lights and vibe with him.

3. The Dance Intermission

Summer Jam was nothing short of surprises and cool entertainment. During the switching of sets the crowd was fairly pleased and surprised with the dancers designed in lights dancing to Kanye’s song Monster.

4. G.O.O.D Music’s Epic Surprise

Everyone knew that G.O.O.D Music was one of the headliners at Summer Jam, but what we didn’t know was that Kanye a.k.a Pablo would make an appearance and give a performance of a lifetime.

5. The Muhammad Ali Tribute

Over the weekend, the world was shocked by the passing of Muhammad Ali, so in good fashion Hot 97’s own Nessa and Rosenberg, came out to pay their respects to the Greatest One by wearing clothing with his face on it and having everyone scream for the legend. Talk about Respect to the Champ!

6. Terror Squad Reunited!

It’s has been a long time since we’ve seen a Terror Squad performance, so what better place to make that happen then at Summer Jam? Yes, Fat Joe and Remy Ma were back together again like they never left and their performance was nothing short of amazing and they brought friends along for the celebration, such as Joe, French Montana and Ashanti.

7. Brooklyn Heavy Representation

Of course, there’s no other place like Brooklyn and although Summer Jam was held in Jersey, Brooklyn was heavily represented. From Maino and Uncle Murda opening the show, to Fabolous and Desiigner gracing the stage as well, there was no doubt that Jersey didn’t feel how the Brooklyn love.

8. The Mixing of Cultural Music and Hip-hop

There were different times of the night where the audience experienced music from around the world. From Jamaican born DJs Bobby Konders and Jabba sending the audience to the West Indies, to DJ Camilo spinning the Spanish tunes.
