Wegmans is expanding to New York City and opening their first mega supermarket in Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Ahead of their fall 2019 grand opening, the company plans to employ approximately 500 people at the Brooklyn store, including 150 open full-time positions. The company insures in a press release sent out last week that the majority of employees hired will be local residents.

The new 74,000 square-foot supermarket will include a second-floor mezzanine with nearly 100 seats for the in-store market café. The mezzanine space also has a bar, serving food, wine, beer, and spirits.
