Brooklyn-based temporary tattoo brand, Tattly, brought a shop to the hood.
Gone are the times of having to go through the pain of needles, multiple appointments and nervousness of not being happy with your permanent tattoos, now that Tattly Temporary Tattoo Parlor is in town. The brand known for their “fun and artistic designs” recently opened a pop-up concept store, located inside The Invisible Dog Art Center on 51 Bergen Street, in the heart of Boerum Hill.
The temporary shop’s design was inspired by the look of a vintage tattoo parlor, outfitted with “a velvet loveseat, vintage-inspired barber’s chairs, and a sputnik chandelier. The walls of the Parlor are adorned with Tattly flash art and custom wallpaper featuring designs by Brooklyn-based hand-poke tattoo artist Tea Leigh and printed by Flavor Paper.”

Though the shop is by appointment only (12–7pm Tuesday thru Sunday) and is limited to covering your arm in a sleeve of temporary tattoos (don’t expect to make an appointment for one gold tattoo, it’s not happening), the interactive experience could be quite enjoyable and well worth it. Average prices range from $15 for one kid sleeve (5 tattoos) to $50 for two adult sleeves (16 tattoos).
Of course you can always just simply order the metallic tattoos and grab some of New York’s freshest tap water and apply yourself. Solely up to you though!
