This panel brings together leading art historians and critics to explore three artists in Auguste Rodin’s sphere of influence—sculptors Camille Claudel and Meta Warrick Fuller and writer Rainer Maria Rilke—and discuss how Rodin’s practice and formal innovations were interpreted by a younger generation of artists and writers. Following short presentations, Lisa Small, Senior Curator of European Art and curator of Rodin at the Brooklyn Museum: The Body in Bronze, moderates a conversation.
