What a roller coaster season it has been for the Nets thus far. A team that couldn’t string together wins, couldn’t get media coverage was looked down upon; made the playoffs at the very last second and are still fighting their way through.

The Brooklyn Nets 2014-2015 Season Recap Before The Playoffs

Lets take a look back at the Brooklyn Nets 2014-2015 season, before this explosive playoff series:

Find a coach

Before the Nets season even started, there was a vacancy at the Head Coach position. Jason Kidd wanted more power and control over the team and the Nets were not willing to give him that. Kidd apparently had another option in Milwaukee if the Nets deal fell through. The Nets basically gave Kidd permission to do what he wanted and the Nets traded Jason Kidd for a couple of second round draft picks. Nets fans and the media were disgusted with this move and the search for a Head Coach for the Nets ended with veteran coach and NBA champion Lionel Hollins.

Andrei Kirilenko doesn’t fit

Coach Hollins made changes quickly and told Andrei that he doesn’t fit into his system which was a shock to everyone. Andrei was benched and the look on his face told the story that he no longer wanted to be in Brooklyn. The Nets shipped off Kirilenko to the Philadelphia 76ers for a second round pick. Andrei didn’t not want to play for the 76ers and a deal was broken between the 2 basketball clubs about the trade.Kirilenko left the NBA to go and play oversees again.

Deron Williams gets injured

All of these factors make foreign pharmacies the source for the cheapest buy cheap cialis see my site and prescription medication.
In a game against the Miami Heat, Deron Williams injured his ribs and had to come out of the game. He played the very next game in Brooklyn against the Dallas Mavericks and injured the ribs even further and was out for weeks. Jarrett Jack took over point guard duties and did a great job. Deron Williams would eventually come back but wouldn’t be productive till the very end of the season. People wanted him traded and he almost was. The Nets stuck with him and hopefully it will pay big dividends.

Mirza Teletovic scare

During a game in Los Angeles agains the Clippers, Forward Mirza Teletovic complained of shortness of breath and immediately left the blowout game. Mirza went to a clinic and was told that he was just dehydrated. Head trainer Tim Walsh decided that more needed to be done and he took him to a hospital to be fully evaluated. Doctors discovered multiple blood clots in his lungs and if Mirza went back on a plan, he may have died. Mirza stayed in L.A. for weeks as his wife flew out to be by his side. Mirza was said to be out until August 2015. Amazingly, Mirza Teletovic became available days after the NBA regular season was over. Mirza came back and actually played in the playoffs. Hopefully he’ll produce some productive minutes.

Trade Rumors

This was the shadow over the Brooklyn Nets until the trade deadline. General Manager, Billy King, said that the big three Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez could all be traded. Fans wanted players gone, other teams wanted some of the Nets players, and the Nets were simply searching for answers after playing badly. The first choice was Brook Lopez going to Miami or OKC. This almost happened at the last second but the Nets held their position and could not be anymore fortunate. Lopez has stepped up big time, becoming the first player this year to be Eastern Conference player of the week. He’s been an absolute gold mine and is KEY to helping the Nets push deeper into the Playoffs. No one wanted Deron because he was injured and Johnson is way to expensive but the Nets did try.

Hello Thaddeus, Good-Bye Garnett

The Brooklyn Nets 2014-2015 Season Recap Before The Playoffs

No one saw or thought that Kevin Garnett would be gone from the Brooklyn Nets via trade. Even more surprising, no one thought that he would be traded back to his original team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, for a young and explosive player, Thaddeus Young. Young had been a gift from the Basketball Gods. He’s quick, he’s sneaky, he can shoot and can do things for the Nets team that Garnett couldn’t. This happened at the last second of the trade deadline and Young has helped the Nets find a go to guy to score and defend. Thaddeus Young is a crowd favorite. Hopefully he will stay with the Nets.

Playoff Push

The Nets found themselves in the 11th spot in the NBA Eastern Conference late in the season and their playoff hopes seemed unlikely. The Nets pushed on forward and crept up the standings but they also held themselves back. The Nets had a chance to reach the 6th seed but fell behind the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics. The Nets lost some of their final games of their season, hampering their playoff chances. The Nets won their final game of the season against the Orlando Magic but still needed a Win/loss from another game to get into the playoffs. Thankfully the Grizzlies beat the IndianaPacers and the Nets held the tie breaker over the Pacers. Nets sneak into the playoffs hours after their final game is over.
