Adidas has secured its first flagship store in Brooklyn. The 8,700 sq. ft shop is set to open by the spring on 452 Fulton Street. The shop will be located next to the forwardly changing Downtown Brooklyn, surrounded by H&M, TJ Maxx,  and Macy’s, Modell’s and Nordstrom Rack amongst others.

“Adidas’ upcoming arrival to the popular Fulton Street area is a major move to build the brand’s stature in New York City and solidify its presence in the sports retail industry,” said Isaac Chera, principal at Crown Acquisitions in a statement to Real Estate Weekly.

Back in September the German sportswear brand hired three NIKE vets to take charge of Adidas’ Brooklyn Creative Studio. Denis Dekovic, Marc Dolce and Mark Miner are prepared to drive design direction for the brand and elevate the company’s direct interaction with consumers.

“Fulton Street in Brooklyn is one of the fastest growing commercial districts in all of New York City. Its proximity to Barclays Center and other important cultural institutions in downtown Brooklyn has made it one of the most popular destinations for locals and tourists alike,” Chera said.

Adidas is not the last retailer to move to  Downtown Brooklyn as another Target, Armani Exchange and Century 21 are all expected to move to the popular Fulton Street soon.
