Local Teen Rock Band Wants Out Of Sony $1.8M Dollar Contract

Back in July of 2014, Brooklyn teen rock band, Unlocking the Truth, created a major buzz as the middle-schoolers were awarded a $1.8 million dollar contract with Sony Music Entertainment. The contract that would wow any teenager seems to be not working out according to a recent interview.

The rock trio, Malcolm Brickhouse, Jarad Dawkins, and Alec Atkins attended the SXSW Festival that featured, Breaking a Monster, a documentary about the band’s swift rise to fame, and Buzzfeed had the opportunity to catch up with the teens. “Our attorneys are in the process of us exiting the label,” Dawkins told the new reporter.
