A fight that started on the street escalated inside Brooklyn’s City Point Mall late Wednesday evening.

A man being chased by a group of men armed with a machete, shot and killed another man inside the mall’s Target store just after 11:00 p.m., moments before the store was set to close, police say.

The alleged gunman stormed inside the store as he was being chased by at-least four men he had previously gotten into a dispute with, according to NYPD.

The victim, 25-year-old Carlton Spencer, and the other three attackers surrounded the shooter but the gunman would pull out a gun and shoot Spencer once in the chest, said police, who added the victim was unarmed.

The gunman and three of the attackers fled but were immediately taken into custody as NYPD found them fighting outside.

Investigators believe the members involved were members of a gang.
