Female Only Private Club ‘The Wing’ is Expanding To Dumbo
No Boys Allowed!
Audrey Gelman and Lauren Kassan’s female-only sanctuary, The Wing is finally opening an outpost in Brooklyn and locals couldn’t be more excited.
Debuting in 2016 in Manhattan’s Flatiron district, The Wing serves as a work and community space for women. Other than enjoying the club’s popular chic powder pink and pastel interior layout, members are encouraged to indulge in amenities like meeting rooms, phone booth, an extensive all-female library, cafeteria, wine and cocktails made by women, a beauty room, showers, a lactation room, and the of-course the opportunity to network with other powerful women.
“Expanding to Brooklyn was a no-brainer for us,” Gelman told Vogue. “A third of The Wing’s members in its Flatiron location call Brooklyn home, and it was consistently one of the most demanded locations in surveys and from requests via email and social media.” Gilman herself resides in Carroll Gardens.
Set to open on the ground floor of Dumbo’s famed Clock Tower, Gelman and Kassan were diligent in finding the perfect space. “We took our time finding the perfect space,” Gelman continued. “The Wing is all about the energy you feel when you enter the door, and having special, unique spaces that feel indigenous to the neighborhood is crucial. When [real estate firm] Two Trees approached us with the opportunity in 1 Main Street, the former location of Bubby’s restaurant, we were thrilled. I spent a ton of time here growing up and it’s very close to my heart.”
