Whatever Manhattan can do, Brooklyn can do better!

The borough’s first ever mega holiday village is headed to Prospect Heights and it may be Brooklyn’s answer to Bryant Park’s annual Bank of America Winter Village.

Seasonal Activation Group announced today their six-week holiday market and festival, Winterfest is headed to the Brooklyn Museum. The 40,000 square foot space between the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Gardens will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland, featuring winter activities, holiday shopping from nearly 50 local and international vendors including Brooklyn Bar Body & Bath, Rockstar Revolution, Andrej Urem Collection, and cultural programs for visitors of all ages.

“We’re thrilled to be the home of the inaugural Winterfest festival in Brooklyn,” says David Berliner, President and Chief Operating Officer at the Brooklyn Museum, in a statement. “The festival is a great opportunity to support local businesses and foster a sense of community and celebration during the holiday season.”

In addition to supplying goods for all of your holiday shopping needs, the space will boast an Enchanted Tree Maze, featuring lighted trees exploring holiday traditions of 20 countries and cultures from around the world; Santa Land with Santa and Mrs. Claus for all your photo needs; a giant snowglobe and the “world’s largest snowman.”

There will also be a performance stage for nightly live music and entertainment, with public performances from Brooklyn-based groups Dancewave and Jazz Faculty & Ensembles from the Brooklyn Music School and more to be announced.

For those who celebrate Hanukah, there will be special programming dedicated to the holiday including a menorah lighting, specialty food, music performances and festivities for children.

Winterfest will open to the public on Friday, November 23, and run seven days a week through Monday, December 31—New Years Eve. Entrance to the festival will be free and open to the public with select paid attractions. Tickets for paid events go on sale November 1. Businesses and organizations can generously donate to Winterfest, allowing children in need to attend paid attractions for free.
