Now that the Brooklyn Nets have played their final game of 2014; its time to take a look back at their top 10 moments of 2014. All the highlights that made Nets fans everywhere chant “Brooook-lyn…Brooook-lyn…Brooook-lyn”
#10 Raptors @ Nets 4/25/14 – Kevin Garnett shows his Brooklyn Pride
With the 1st round playoff series tied with the Toronto Raptors, the series headed home to Brooklyn. In this highlight Kevin Garnett was determined to get his possession of the loose ball and show the home crowd that he proudly wore BROOKLYN across his chest.
#9 Pistons @ Nets 12/21/14- Mason Plumlee 1 handed alley-oop
On this night the Nets would wear their Brooklyn Blue’s Jerseys, a tribute to the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Detroit Pistons were busy trying to rattle the double-double machine, Mason Plumlee, to no avail. Plumlee would not only be the teams’ leading scorer in the win but would also show that white boys can indeed jump and finish in style.
#8 Kings @ Nets 12/29/14- Kevin Garnett Dunks on a fast break
You didn’t have to be inside Barclays Center to appreciate this one. In this next highlight Kevin Garnett puts all the haters and nay-sayers to bed as he turns back the clock against the Sacramento Kings. KG proves that he still has a lot in the tank and if he digs deep enough he can still find a dunk in his arsenal.
#7 Hawks @ Nets 12/05/14- Cory Jefferson Monstrous and 1 Dunk
In a game where the Brooklyn Nets could walk off their home court with a win, they could at least walk off with a long lasting highlight via a thunderous and one dunk from the rookie Cory Jefferson. Take a look, you’ll see.
#6 Nets @ Thunder 11/21/14- Find Deron Williams
Deron Williams and the Nets came in to the Chesapeake Energy Arena looking to sweep the Thunder on the season and left a finishing highlight in their win. Does anyone in Oklahoma know where Deron Williams is?

#5 Spurs @ Nets 12/03/14 – Nets Beat the NBA Defending Champions in OT
The San Antonio Spurs would be coming into Brooklyn for the first time as NBA Champions and on an 8 game winning streak. The Brooklyn Nets hadn’t beaten a team over the .500 mark on the season yet. The Nets came in, made this game a battle and left their home floor with a win. Coach Pop predicted that Brooklyn will become monsters by the end of the season. Let’s hope so.
#4 Jeffery Gamblero Tribute-12/16/14
This highlight isn’t a dunk, a pass, or trick shot of any nature. This highlight is a tribute to a man who attended almost every single Nets game since 1990. He danced in the crowds and wore his signature neon green colors for everyone to see. You simply can’t talk about the Nets or its fans without talking about Jeffery Gamblero. The Brooklyn Nets did an absolute classy tribute to Jeff, permanently stitching him into the fabric of the organization.
#3 Nets @ Thunder 01/02/14- Joe “Jesus” arrives
This game happened to be the first game of 2014 for the Brooklyn Nets who were struggling miserably at a record of 10-21. The team vowed that 2014 would be different but with the Nets down 16 points at the start of the 4th quarter against the potent Oklahoma City Thunder, it would take a miracle to pull out a win. The Nets would turn to Joe Johnson who would turn into Joe “Jesus”.
#2 Nets @ Heat 4/08/14- Mason Plumlee Blocks Lebron James’ Dunk
If there was ever an opportunity for a rookie to shine against the world’s best basketball player in Lebron James, Mason Plumlee knew his moment was coming. The Nets would need to stop Lebron from scoring to sweep the Miami Heat 4-0 in the regular season. If you didn’t know who Mason Plumlee was before this highlight, you certainly did after. You can bet that Lebron James did.
#1 Nets @ Raptors 05/04/14- Game 7 NBA Playoffs Round 1- The Moment of Truth
The Brooklyn Nets would find themselves not only in hostile territory but in a dangerous spot, up by 1 point in the final seconds of a Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs. The Raptors, however would have the ball. The Nets would need a stop to win the series and advance to the next round. The Nets would need to seek “The Truth”.
You forgot the most important moment and that was meeting me. Lol
