Brooklyn Comes Together To Support A Young Girl Battling Cancer

Casey Bardowell is nine-year-old girl who suffers from a rare form of leukemia known as pre-b Acute Lymphcytic Leukemia. The cost of medical treatments, that also included a bone marrow transplant, have overwhelmed young Casey’s family, the Brooklyn Eagle reports. Due to the extremely high costs of the treatment, Casey and her single mom, Tracy Glasgow, lost their home and are currently living in a homeless shelter. “We were shocked to learn that she was moved into a roach infested shelter knowing how life threatening her condition is,” Kabel told the local publication. To make matters even more difficult, Tracy is unable to work because she spends the bulk of her time caring for her young daughter.

The Kabels, who became acquainted with the Glasgow family while their daughters were patients at Sloan-Ketterin launched a website SupportOurCasey.com to collect donations for Casey. They also offered up their home address in any case that someone wanted to donate by check.
