Brooklyn: A New Home, A New Life Exhibition Opening

In 2018 the Brooklyn Historical Society Teen Council convened to create an exhibition featuring five Brooklynites whose stories the Council felt needed to be told. The exhibition will feature stories about historical Brooklynites: Harriet Judson, John Roebling, Nathan Handwerker, and Shirley Chisholm, as well as Ravi Ragbir, a contemporary immigration activist.
Weeksville Ambassadors Night: In Pursuit of Freedom NOW!

Weeksville Heritage Center (WHC) will open its doors for two blockbuster exhibitions; ‘In Pursuit of Freedom Now!’ a pop up public history exhibit amplifying the roots and wings of activism and ‘Forward Ever! Sacred Ground & Sovereign Space’, a contemporary art exhibit, exploring our creative resilience that seeks to reclaim sovereign spaces where we can be brilliant, Black and free. Weeksville Ambassadors are calling all millennial neighbors, young Black professionals, HBCU alum, and members of the D9 to celebrate our radical past and revolutionary future manifested through the visual arts.
