It’s unreal to know it’s been 13 years since the One In A Million singer, Aaliyah’s life was tragically cut short. On August 25th, 2001, at the gentle age of 22, Aaliyah Dana Haughton’s life ended in a fatal airplane crash but still to this day, her music and life’s legacy still lives on.
The Brooklyn born singer’s biopic will soon take us back to her amazing yet short career as a TV movie and a second one rumored to be heading to the big screen. Although much controversy has followed since the announcing of the movie, it looks as if nothing with stop this movie from being made. Although many people like myself respect her life, legacy and immediate family who are against the TV movie being made, a part of me would love to know more about Aaliyah as do many of her fans.
Her music still influences millennials like Chris Brown, Sevyn Streeter, Tinashe and Jhene Aiko.
As reported by Billboard:
“The new generation pulls inspiration from Aaliyah, despite not growing up with her, because she was authentic,” says 43-year-old Missy Elliott, who co-wrote many of Aaliyah’s songs. “Her music couldn’t be placed in a category.”
Rather than levitra prescription stretching fights, it’s better to settle down with any of these issues and get treated as soon as possible.
“We owe our chill vibe to her,” says Tinashe, 21. “People were used to artists belting things out. She brought a new vocal styling that wasn’t represented in R&B. Not everything has to be so uptempo.”
As we remember the late great singer, lets take a look at some of the people she has inspired musically.
