Roc Nation Associates Open 'Roc N' Sole' Downtown Brooklyn!

It’s safe to say that even the best friends of hip-hop mogul, Jay Z have their hands in everything.

Brooklyn has a new sneakerhead heaven to visit. Jay Z’s close friends, Lenny S, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, Jeff Harris and Tashawn Smith-Green have officially opened Roc N’ Sole in Downtown Brooklyn. Roc N’ Sole is located on 492 Atlantic Avenue and is already making moves in the neighborhood. The urban-wear and sneaker boutique handed out free tickets to the Roc Nation Charity game the day before they official opened to get people familiarized and inside the shop..

Great marketing strategy!

Lenny S, as many know him by his amazing pictures of the entire Roc Nation crew stamped ‘KodakLens’, took to Instagram today to share his utter excitement for the new shop:

I spent weeks tryin to figure out what my caption would be. I can’t help it. I’m an over thinker. I don’t ever want to be too cocky or too corny. So… I figured, just tell the truth. One word… Inspiration. Everything I’ve done up to this point in my life was cause I was inspired by someone or something else. Bad or good. When people didn’t make it easy for me, it inspired me to go hard. When I did received great blessings, it inspired me to value and appreciate everything. When I grew up struggling with my mom in The Bronx and didn’t have money for college it inspired me to try to become successful w/out an education or degree. Then when I had kids, it inspired me to be the best father &/or role model they could ever have. There’s no bigger inspiration (to me) than workin with my brother Jay my entire adult life. That man makes me believe ANYTHING is possible. Hence my love/loyalty that can NEVER be compromised. His belief in me inspires me in words I can’t even express. Multiple, daily Inspirational talks from Chaka push the hell out of me & INSPIRE me. AB inspires me immensely. The mother of my kids inspires me. (Yes, you do. Lol) All single parents inspire me. Entrepreneurs inspire me. Photography inspires me. All of my co-workers, fam/friends & the artist I work with, Inspire me. My 87yr old grandmother who loved & held me down unconditionally my entire life and consigned for my 1st car INSPIRES me. The ROC inspires me. It has always been a dream of mine to own a business. Especially 1 that I’m passionate about. If you know me, you know that a Sneaker Store &/or Restaurant have always been at the top of my list. Well that day has come and that sneaker/apparel store is here. ROC N SOLE. A small, cool, unique retail experience in downtown BK, NY. Along with my great partners, Jeff, TY-TY & Tashawn, this came to life. I hope this inspires someone that when you focus, work extremely hard, set goals & most importantly, execute, anything is possible. I hope this inspires my piers as they inspire me. Roc N’ Sole held a soft opening on this past Thursday and today officially opened for business.
