Apparently there’s not enough coffee in Brooklyn as a Turkish coffee shop is raising funds to bring their exotic shop to Greenpoint.
Walter’s Coffee Roastery, a “Breaking Bad” themed coffee shop that first opened in Istanbul, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to open their first location in New York City. The coffee shop is hoping to raise $55,000 to be used for remodeling a space, equipment and legal fees and according to the owner’s Facebook, they have already scouted two locations on Franklin Ave., in Greenpoint.
“HEJ! (That’s swedish and means hello) Good news. We have two possible locations, both located in Greenpoint, on Franklin St,” Walter’ Coffee Roastery states on Facebook. “One of them is the one you can see in our Kickstarter campaign. The other one is new, we just looked at it yesterday. Ladies and Gentlemen, 113 Franklin St, Brooklyn, NY 11222. 7m high ceilings, outdoor seating possibility, 200m2 ground level + 50m2 mezzanine!”
The owners launched their shop inspired by a particular scene in the, Emmy-winning show where meth-maker Walter White admires a cup of coffee. Roasters in the shop wear HazMat suits and coffee is served in little beakers like the ones White uses on the show. Exceptionally cool right?
