If you have a child in a Brooklyn catholic elementary school, you could be eligible to receive a helping hand for tuition.

At the annual ‘Scholarship Fund Dinner’ lead by the Diocese of Brooklyn, this past weekend the diocese raised a whopping $2.2 million towards the Futures in Education program. The dinner, held at the Waldorf Astoria in the Grand Ballroom, had over 1,000 people in attendance.

The Futures in Education program is designed to help children from low-income families attend Catholic elementary schools from grades K-8 in Brooklyn and in Queens. The program is set to give tuition assistance or provide full scholarships to students who need it. The Futures in Education is also designed to ensure that the students enrolled receive the best possible education in Catholic school.

The Futures in Education program have different resources to help those families in need of tuition assistance, with programs like the Catholic Alumni Partnership and the School Business Partnership. They also have the Angel Program, which designed for both child and parent. The child who becomes part of the Angel Program will receive partial tuition, starting at 1,500 a year and for every parent/guardian who becomes an Archangel, the program will sponsor up to two children with the tuition assistance starting at $3,000 a year.
