The first ever all-vegetarian public school has arrived in Brooklyn!

P.S.1, the Bergen Elementary School in Sunset Park is the first school in the borough—New York City’s third—to exclusively offer plant-based lunches. The school that holds 1250 students, from Pre-K to fifth grade, says the transition to go completely vegetarian was student driven.

“My students have expressed an interest in healthier eating, and the school gave them the option to choose this menu,” says school principal, Arlene Ramos. “I am very proud of their decision.”
