One of Brooklyn’s most sought after traditional South African eateries needs the peoples help to keep them open.

Madiba Resturant, located at 195 Dekalb Avenue in Fort Greene, opened back in September of 1999 and has launched a public Indiegogo campaign to help keep it going for years to come. Due to the continuous rising costs of supplies, increasing rent and questionable lease renewal, Madiba had to shut down their Harlem location and worries Brooklyn might be next.

“We know that Madiba has become your second home. We want to continue to offer the menu, experience and support that have put us on the global map. We encourage you to still come and dine with us, as any support will help to protect our future,” states chef and owner Mark Henegan in the campaign. “Furthermore, we are hoping we can rely on our family and friends to recommend and consider Madiba for corporate parties and caterings during the holiday season.”
