One of Williamsburg’s popular film and boozy hot spots is set to close.
In a Twitter post worthy of making long-time regulars shed a tear, owners of Videology Bar & Cinema (308 Bedford Ave.) announced they will officially close the venue on Saturday, October 27.
“Thank you so much to all of our loyal and passionate customers. We couldn’t have done it without you!,” the post read.
Co-owner James Leet assures the closure is not due to Williamsburg’s rising rents but rather the owners want to work on other projects. “My partner and I feel it’s the right time to pursue other opportunities,” Leet told amNewYork.
Videology first opened in 2003 as a video rental store, Ã la Blockbuster, and later expanded with a bar and video screening room in 2012.
The venue was particularly known for its special events: themed trivia and 30 Rock, Stranger Things, and American Horror Story bingo nights and musical film sing-a-longs.
Fans of the bar took to Twitter to expressed their sadness.
Lot of good times at Videology: bluing out (that’s what I call blacking out on blue hawaiis) at the Boogie Nights-themed New Year party, besting Emma Stone at 30 Rock trivia, birthdays, book parties, and so many movies. Tough loss for the town. https://t.co/0gHhYaxcCx

Men who utilize this jelly have a tendency to get sleepless nights when their standard regimen, right here cheapest levitra the one they have been utilized to for a prolonged time, gets disrupted.
the first NYC party I ever went to after I moved to NYC was at Videology, also the strongest drink I’ve ever had https://t.co/jSPVgXRIqO

I wish I was more upset about Videology closing in BK but really it’s just another casualty of NYC’s war with its own waning cultural relevance. They really won’t be happy until all five Burroughs are filled with nothing but yuppie lofts, banks, and Duane Reades.

I believe Videology closing marks everything I loved on Bedford when I first moved to NYC will be gone by the end of this year. https://t.co/9lMt7XpV8K
