American Iconoclasts V: George Gershwin

Brooklyn Art Song Society concludes its ambitious American Iconoclasts series with its unique take on the works of George Gershwin. The first half of the program features virtuosic transcriptions of Gershwins music by legendary pianist Earl Wild and iconic violinist Jasha Heifetz. On the second half mezzo-soprano Naomi Louisa OConnell and tenor Martin Bakari, each in their BASS debuts, join pianist Brent Funderburk in selections from musicals by George and Ira Gershwin.
