There’s a new hangout section in Brooklyn.
The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership has teamed up with FANTÁSTICA to bring new “Street Seats” to MetroTech Center. The seats have been installed on 111 Lawrence Street and 360 Bainbridge Street but are designed to be able to move around to different locations throughout the year.

“The Street Seats project builds on many of the goals outlined both in the Brooklyn Tech Triangle Strategic Plan not only to improve pedestrian connectivity in our neighborhood, but also to enhance the overall appeal of the area as a community gathering place,” said Ryan Grew, Deputy Director of Operations for the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. “And like every public space project, programming will be essential to the success of Street Seats, which is why we chose to locate the pilot activation adjacent to MetroTech Center.”
For residents who like to people watch, eat outside or just take a little break, these seats will be pretty useful.
