However, unfortunately, due to the unpredictable weather and severe showers the take off has been postponed to a later date that is yet to be confirmed. According to SI’s blog, it was stated “After several days of hard work on this potential flight, the Mission Control Center decided to prioritize pilot and airplane safety in their decision to postpone it. They are now continuing to study the weather over the coming days to find the next flight possibility bringing Solar Impulse to New York City.”

While Brooklynites and New Yorkers anticipate the midnight flight, Solar Impulse encouraged people to head over to SolarImpulse.com to receive the latest updates and memos as to when things will resume.
