According to Yahoo Sports, Mason Plumlee is going to his 1st NBA Dunk Contest. If you’ve been paying attention to Plumlee, you already know that he is a double-double machine, a runaway fan favorite on the Nets, and oh by the way, a human highlight reel when he gets to go up and dunk. How many times do we hear Nets announcer Ian Eagle saying “The Plummer with the flush” or “Mason Plumlee is on a rack-attack”?  It’s every Nets game in case you wanted an answer.

Nets' Mason Plumlee Headed To The 2015 NBA Dunk Contest

Mason Plumlee is clearly in demand and it would’ve been a federal crime if this year’s NBA ALL-STAR events didn’t include him. What’s interesting is that just yesterday Plumlee was asked about the dunk contest after reporters saw him dunking at practice. Plumlee responded saying that he wasn’t dunking to prepare for the contest. Don’t know if we believe that. The basketball star will have home court advantage as the event will be held inside an expected sold out Barclays Center on February 14th. Plumlee will get his chance to display his vertical leap, athleticism, and dunking ability in front of a worldwide audience.

Obviously we want Mason to win but it won’t be easy. He will be joined by other rising stars in the NBA with incredible athleticism. According to the same reports, these names include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo, and Zach Lavine. Without question this year’s dunk contest line up is the most attractive in years. We’ve been wanting a better dunk contest and we’re going to finally get it here in Brooklyn.
