An electrically wild night in Brooklyn welcomed the defending NBA Champions, the San Antonio Spurs, to the Barclays Center tonight to wrap up their 2 game season series against the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets were looking to string together 2 wins on their 2nd night of a back to back. Celebrities Nick Cannon of Americas Got Talent and Adrian Grenier of Entourage were in attendance to watch the exciting NBA main event in Brooklyn.
Early in the first quarter saw great defense by the Nets who took an early lead, caused the Spurs to turn the ball over multiple times made the Spurs shoot poorly from the floor. Brooklyn became aggressive and battled with the defending champions on both ends of the floor, without committing silly fouls. The Spurs ended up taking a small lead with under 2 minutes remaining in the quarter but the Nets fought back and tied the game at the end of the quarter 17-17.
Second quarter action got underway as the Spurs and Brooklyn continued to fight at Barclays. The Spurs managed to gain the lead and eventually go up by 6, 35-29 with 4:59 remaining. Brooklyn fought back with a pair of 3’s From Deron Williams and Mirza Teletovic to tie the game. Teletovic ended up with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the 2nd quarter to help the Nets cause. Both teams went back and forth reclaiming the lead but the defending champions eventually took the 2 point lead to enter the half 42-40.
Coming out of the half was more like a tug of war between the two teams. Mirza and Deron Williams continued their offensive barrage and took a 4 point lead right before a Spurs timeout, 49-45. Defense was key for the Nets as they made multiple stops and shared the ball almost flawlessly to increase their lead to 59-46 to go on a 17-1 run. Brooklyn pride showed up in the 3rd and the Nets had every intent of keeping it into the 4th as they took a 10 point lead, 68-58.
Entering the 4th, thanks to the Nets, no Spur had double-digit figure scoring. Nets fought to keep a vice grip on their 10 point lead. The Nets sure looked like they were having fun out there building their lead to as high as 14 and playing great defense. Mirza Teletovic showed no signs of letting up as he continued to knocked down a couple of 3’s. The Spurs, however decided to turn things up a notch late in the 4th and went on a 9-0 run, 82-77.
Spurs managed to pull within 1 with 2 minutes remaining, 84-83. Brooklyn would not go out without a fight as the Barclays Center came unglued showing their appreciation. Brook Lopez went to the outside and bank in his shot to put his team up 3, 86-83. With 07.2 seconds left, the Spurs Danny green took an open 3 to tie the game, 88-88 with 02.4 seconds remaining in the game. Johnson goes for the last shot but misses sending the game into overtime.

Now into the extra quarter, Deron Williams knocks down an open 3 to build a 3 point lead. Both teams fouling on shot plays and both teams making each free throw count. Danny Green once again hits a 3 to cut the lead to 2. Spurs can’t convert on the other end and Spurs Coach Greg Popovich is livid! Spurs defense makes Bogdanovic turn the ball over with 0.9 seconds left to play.

Lopez and the Spurs’ Joseph go for the jump ball with 0.02 seconds left and Lopez knocks the ball away and the Nets beat the NBA defending Champions 93-95, and they did it in Brooklyn!
