Union Market, a grocery shop stocked with locally sourced, organic, and all-natural foods, will open their fifth Brooklyn location in Crown Heights.
The supermarket has recently signed a 10,600-square-foot lease at the future eight-story building at 1525 Bedford Avenue near Eastern Parkway and Prospect Park, according to Commercial Observer.
“Union Market’s presence at 1525 Bedford Avenue will be a tremendous amenity to the residents of the new building and to the community as a whole,” Dvir Cohen Hoshen, a co-founder and managing member of Adam America, said in a statement. “Union Market is one of the best mid-sized supermarket operators in the entire city.”
The building set to house Union Market on the ground floor, will also make available 133 apartment units, 35 of which will be affordable housing inside the eight-story tower. The other 8,400 square feet of retail space at 1525 Bedford Avenue will house a and an urgent care facility or an eatery, according to CO.
Union Market currently has another location in the works at 342 Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights, in additon to their two Park Slope shops and another in Cobille Hill, already open to the public.
The Crown Heights tower is set to be complete by 2018.
