For the first time ever, this year’s J’Ouvert celebration held in Crown Heights as the introduction to the New York Caribbean Carnival Parade, will take place during daylight hours.

For the past couple of years, violence has plagued the annual Caribbean festival and J’Ouvert City International President, Yvette Rennie assures this will help combat the violence instead of canceling the festival altogether.

“Based on what happened in those consecutive years, we felt that it was very important that we bring it more into light,” Rennie told the NY Daily News. “The whole theme is, they are not going to shut down J’Ouvert. We are going to find measures to continue J’Ouvert.”

In 2015 Carey Gabay, a lawyer and aide to Gov. Cuomo was fatally shot by a stray bullet and just last year, two people — Tyreke Borel (17) and Vertina Brown (22) —were fatally shot during the festivities.

Ronald Victor, the partner chief of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute has observed that find these guys purchase generic cialis was effective in treating Erectile Dysfunction and its issues.
“We are extremely concerned that darkness is when everything (bad) happens,” Rennie said.

Traditionally, J’Ouvert begins at around 2 a.m. The new hours set for the procession will begin at 6 a.m. and end at 11 a.m.

In addition, J’Ouvert organizers, crisis management, community groups, and city officials will host several anti-gang violence and educational events in the days ahead of the Sept. 4 parade.
