OurBKSocial caught up with Brooklyn Nets General Manager, Billy King, at an NBA Fit event in Manhattan to discuss All-Star 2015 events, trade deadlines, Andray Blatche, and free agents. At the event NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Mayor De Blasio, and other NBA officials cut the red ribbon on a new gym court for the school as part of an NBA Cares Initiative.
After hearing Mason Plumlee’s thoughts on wanting Andrey Blatche back in the line-up and the possibility of Lance Stephenson, we need to hear the thoughts of the man who can make that all happen.
OurBKSocial: With the Rising Stars Challenge and the Dunk Contest being in Brooklyn, how did it feel to prepare for that?
Billy King: You know I think it’s great. For us to be able to showcase the Barclays Center but also to showcase Brooklyn. I was just talking to the Mayor [Bill de Blasio] about that. The more and more we get people to understand Brooklyn and what Brooklyn’s all about the better it is. But to be able to have really one of the signature events, especially on the dunk and the 3 point contests in Brooklyn to me is special.
OBKS: And you’ll be in attendance?
BK: Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah.
OBKS: Have you given any thought to the Andray Blatche…
BK: Yeah, we’re in discussions about it. We’ve had contact with him and hopefully we’ll make a decision soon.
OBKS: I’m sure your going to be busy the next few days with the trade deadline.
You don t you can try this out order viagra online even need a prescription when buying it.
BK: Yeah. The trade deadline is next Thursday so uh, we’ll work the phones. I doubt if we’ll do anything but we’re going to work the phones and if something makes sense we’ll do it.
OBKS: What’s the time deadline on this? The particular hour?
BK: 3pm. Next Thursday
OBKS: When your surveying the scene at the games, watching the team, is there anything that you’re looking for specifically?
BK: Well you’re always trying to find certain guys that can fit in. Like their athleticism, the right personality, the right fit and I was listening to Phil Jackson (Knicks President of Basketball Operations) talk today at the Tech Summit. He looks for the guys with the heart. Those are things you really can’t judge. That’s really more of an eye test. We’re just trying to find guys that fit Brooklyn.
OBKS: Speaking of that; we recently spoke to Mason Plumlee about his thoughts on Lance Stephenson. Do you have any thoughts on that?
BK: I can’t talk about other people’s players. Mason can but I can’t.
