As the United States celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday, Eminem celebrated his mother in a different way. The song “Headlights”, from last year’s No 1 album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was created into video by Brooklyn lover, Director Spike Lee. The song which is a direct ode to Eminem’s mother, Debbie Mathers, was released yesterday in honor of her and all he put her through musically.

Headlights is Eminem’s public apology to his mom. Spike Lee decided to shoot the video from Debbie’s perspective and to explore the troubled relationship. The video was shot in the rapper’s hometown of Detroit to capture the full essence of Eminem and his mother.
